Founded with a passion for heritage and community spirit, Hungarian Kapisztrán Folk Ensemble of Winnipeg is a volunteer-run group dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and sharing Hungarian culture. Through year-round events, educational programs, traditional music and dance, culinary experiences, and cultural outreach, we provide a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to explore and connect with Hungary’s rich traditions.
Rooted in the belief that cultural heritage thrives through community engagement, we work tirelessly to keep Hungarian customs alive for future generations. This year, we proudly celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Hungarian Kapisztrán Folk Ensemble of Winnipeg. It is a true honour to mark this milestone and to have had the privilege of preserving and sharing our rich Hungarian heritage throughout the decades. As we look back on so many meaningful and memorable years, our hearts are with filled gratitude for all those who have helped carry this legacy forward. One of the highlights of our year is our participation in Folklorama, North America's largest and longest-running multicultural festival. As proud hosts of the Hungary-Pannonia Pavilion, we showcase authentic folk dance performances, homemade Hungarian cuisine, and proudly share our history to thousands of visitors. Folklorama is our biggest platform to celebrate our heritage, build cultural bridges, and involve our entire community—from seasoned volunteers to enthusiastic youth—in a joyful and immersive cultural experience.

Through the art of movement, we aim to inspire individuals to embrace their cultural heritage, express themselves, and connect with others.
